Position in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  The Kenosha Symphony Orchestra is seeking a person for the position of Director of Development.  The Kenosha Symphony Orchestra’s mission is to provide musical excellence for the cultural enhancement and enrichment of the community.  The Director of Development will be primarily responsible for raising funds for the Symphony with direct solicitation, including corporate and individual sponsors; researching and preparing grant applications; and seeking advertisements for our annual program book.  Further, the Director of Development shall promote community awareness of our organization; develop fundraising events; and increase the attendance and awareness of our concert season.  Finally, the Director of Development shall be responsible for carrying out the tasks as assigned by the President and Kenosha Symphony board.

The candidate shall have a strong interest in promoting the arts; the ability to work independently; and shall be proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.  The candidate shall have a college degree or associates degree, or shall be pursuing a degree with anticipated graduation date of May, 2008. 

Compensation:  Commensurate with abilities and experience. 

Organization Description:  The Kenosha Symphony Orchestra is in its 68th year.  Each season the KSO presents a 4-concert subscription series of symphonic repertoire, as well as its annual Youth Concerts for all Kenosha County 5th graders.  The Symphony's governing body is the Kenosha Symphony Association, Inc. which is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
